There’s something truly special about fall in Montreal, and the recent couple’s session I had with Raphaëll and Samantha at Parc Lafontaine captured all the magic of this season. Raphaëll, a Montreal native, and Samantha, who hails from the States, brought their vibrant energy and unique story to our shoot. This session allowed us to showcase their connection amidst the brilliant colors of fall, capturing their warmth and joy against the iconic scenery of the Plateau neighborhood.
A Love that Crossed Paths in Unexpected Places
When asked how they met, Samantha was eager to share a story full of spontaneity and joy. They originally connected through one of Samantha's partners and found themselves working together on a creative project, co-producing a sober, all-ages drag event in Montreal. A shared passion for creativity quickly blossomed into a deep connection, one filled with shared interests and values. Samantha describes their relationship as one of “recognition of ourselves in the other,” with a beautiful harmony in the way they see and engage with the world.
Shared Passions and Simple Joys
Raphaëll and Samantha share many hobbies, from enjoying live music and taking scenic walks to experimenting with new vegan recipes. They love connecting with Montreal’s vibrant communities, and their mutual interests often lead them on new adventures. As Samantha described, there’s an effortless comfort in their relationship, and their time together is often spent enjoying both creative collaborations and cozy nights in.
During the shoot, their connection was palpable. Samantha shared how wonderful it felt to be in a public space, “visibly queer and trans and in love,” creating an atmosphere of love, pride, and joy.
