This historic setting was the perfect backdrop to capture their connection, as it complemented the depth and timeless nature of their love story.

Lucie and Jeremie’s story is one for the ages. They met in high school when they were just twelve, quickly becoming best friends, and started dating two years later. Life led them down different paths for a few years, but they found their way back to each other during their university years. Since reconnecting, they’ve rarely spent more than a week apart. Their love has grown and strengthened over the years, and I wanted to make sure that the photos reflected that deep connection and enduring bond.

Starting the Shoot at the Old Port’s Clock Tower

We began the session near the Clock Tower, one of the Old Port’s most recognizable landmarks. With its stunning architecture and views over the water, the Clock Tower provided a serene and romantic atmosphere to start the shoot. Lucie and Jeremie were so natural together, sharing smiles, laughter, and quiet moments. Lucie didn’t hesitate to say “yes,” and as Jeremie jokes, “it’s all been a wonderful misunderstanding since!”

Their love is grounded in life’s simple pleasures – from Sunday afternoons spent exploring bookstores to cozy evenings cooking together. They have dreams of growing old together, starting a family, and discovering new experiences and places. It was my goal to reflect this sense of adventure and new beginnings throughout our photoshoot, capturing the essence of their relationship and their shared excitement for the future.

We began the session near the Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal’s premier archaeology and history complex. Surrounded by cobblestone streets and timeless architecture, Alix and Florian brought a modern vibrancy to this historic setting. For them, this photoshoot was a “first” they wanted to experience together, one of the many “firsts” they cherish as a couple.

The absence of other visitors amplified the serenity of the surroundings, enabling us to truly connect with the natural world around us.

For this particular shoot, I decided to experiment with a different editing style, aiming to infuse an outdoorsy vibe into the final images. An Amazing Portrait Shoot in Rittenhouse Square with Temma

Introduction:

In April, on a sunny day in Philadelphia, I had an awesome adventure taking portraits in Rittenhouse Square. The goal was to help Temma get some cool photos for her social media profiles. It was a surprisingly warm day, and everything felt perfect.

Discovering the Perfect Spot:

I decided to try something different and explore new places for the shoot. Rittenhouse Square seemed like a good choice with lots of interesting backgrounds. Since it was sunny, I looked for shady spots to make the lighting softer. The tall buildings around us created cool shadows and some neat reflections.

Meeting Temma:

Temma was amazing! She arrived on time, wearing a beautiful yellow dress that matched the spring vibe perfectly. We hit it off right away, talking about our religious backgrounds and important values like being thankful and staying positive. It was such a great conversation that made the shoot even more enjoyable.

Going with the Flow:

For this shoot, I wanted to be spontaneous and let things happen naturally. I didn't know much beforehand - it was my first time meeting Temma, and she picked her own outfit, hairstyle, and makeup. I had never been to Rittenhouse Square either. But you know what? I wouldn't change a thing! The photos we captured are warm, beautiful, full of joy, and bursting with colors.

Conveying the Right Vibes:

I think the photos really show Temma's personality and the happy atmosphere we had. She already shared some on her social media, and people loved them! It's amazing how photography can capture who someone truly is.

Exciting Future Plans:

This shoot was awesome! I loved the spontaneous nature of it, where I had to think on my feet. In the future, I'm thinking of doing more shoots in Philly using special lighting to have more control over the photos. In today's digital age, it's incredible how technology can bring people together. In March, I embarked on a delightful photoshoot in Jacksonville, Florida with a newfound friend named Sawyer, whom I was blessed to meet through an LGBT Facebook group. The beautiful setting near Riverside Park, combined with the sunny afternoon, created the perfect backdrop for our shoot.

Jacksonville, known as the "River City by the Sea," is a coastal city brimming with Southern charm and natural beauty. The photoshoot took place near Riverside Park, a picturesque location renowned for its lush greenery. The park's tranquil atmosphere provided an array of captivating backdrops, making it an ideal choice for our creative vision.

Thanks to the power of social media, I crossed paths with Sawyer, who hadn’t had a proper photoshoot since his transition. After exchanging messages it became clear he would be a great person to collaborate with.

On the day of our shoot, the sun graced us with a beautiful golden glow over the park. The weather was simply perfect. We met half a block from the park at Birdies, a local gay bar and institution well-known to Jacksonville LGBTQ folks. From the moment we met, Sawyer and I instantly clicked. It felt more like a casual hangout than a formal photoshoot.

As I look back at the images from that sunny afternoon, I am reminded not only of the beauty of the location but also how the most important part of a portrait session is connection.
