This October, I had the privilege of photographing Lucie and Jeremie, a couple with a truly heartwarming love story. Our photoshoot took place in Montreal’s beautiful Old Port, beginning near the iconic Clock Tower and wrapping up across from Champ-de-Mars. This historic setting was the perfect backdrop to capture their connection, as it complemented the depth and timeless nature of their love story.
High School Sweethearts with a Lifelong Connection
Lucie and Jeremie’s story is one for the ages. They met in high school when they were just twelve, quickly becoming best friends, and started dating two years later. Life led them down different paths for a few years, but they found their way back to each other during their university years. Since reconnecting, they’ve rarely spent more than a week apart. Their love has grown and strengthened over the years, and I wanted to make sure that the photos reflected that deep connection and enduring bond.
Starting the Shoot at the Old Port’s Clock Tower
We began the session near the Clock Tower, one of the Old Port’s most recognizable landmarks. With its stunning architecture and views over the water, the Clock Tower provided a serene and romantic atmosphere to start the shoot. Lucie and Jeremie were so natural together, sharing smiles, laughter, and quiet moments. Their ease around each other made it effortless to capture the small, tender gestures that make their relationship so special.
One of my goals as a photographer is to tell each couple’s unique story through their photos, and Lucie and Jeremie’s love shone brightly in each frame. Jeremie’s playful sense of humor, and Lucie’s caring spirit came across so clearly, from the way he’d make her laugh with a silly pun to the quiet, comfortable moments they shared.
A Stroll through the Old Port and Memories by Champ-de-Mars
We wrapped up the shoot across from Champ-de-Mars, a lush green space with views of Montreal’s historic architecture. It was here that Jeremie shared his charming proposal story with me – how he realized he wanted to spend his life with Lucie during his first work trip away from her, and how he popped the question on their anniversary, so excited he barely got the words out. Lucie didn’t hesitate to say “yes,” and as Jeremie jokes, “it’s all been a wonderful misunderstanding since!”
Their love is grounded in life’s simple pleasures – from Sunday afternoons spent exploring bookstores to cozy evenings cooking together. They have dreams of growing old together, starting a family, and discovering new experiences and places. Capturing their joy, closeness, and shared dreams was a beautiful experience that reminded me of why I love photographing couples.
Timeless Memories in Montreal’s Iconic Old Port
Montreal’s Old Port is a stunning location for couples photoshoots, with its mix of historic charm and natural beauty. It was the perfect setting to document Lucie and Jeremie’s love, highlighting the warmth and timeless nature of their relationship. I’m honored to have been part of capturing these moments for them as they continue their journey together.
